Working as part of Henry Boot Development’s team on this £333 million new build development for Aberdeen City Council to replace the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.
Our remit was to lead the consultation and engagement as part of the planning application process.
The consultation was wide ranging and resulted in over 4,000 individuals and organisations taking part over a one-year period. A comprehensive stakeholder plan was developed by streets-UK at project inception and signed off by the Council.
A number of issues required careful handling including a late decision to demolish a baroque style mansion building which, although not listed, was well loved by the local community.
We also contributed to the sustainability strategy focussing on the economic and social benefits that the project could deliver.
