Cloverhill
Bridge of Don

streets-UK were commissioned by Cognito Oak LLP, a partnership between HBD and Wraith Real Estate, to prepare the community benefits element of their successful bid to Aberdeen City Council Housing Programme Developer Led Council Housing Works Contract to develop their site at Cloverhill as a £110m social housing contract.

ACC’s detailed community benefit requirements required extensive online engagement with a wide range of local and national support agencies, delivery partners and educational establishments to establish a focused and ambitious Community Benefits Project Plan that addressed ACC’s and the local communities’ needs.

Innovative proposals that reflected the needs of end users included a partnership with homelessness charity, Social Bite, to include a construction employability programme for homeless people who could then qualify for a home in the community they had helped build.

Since the contract was finalised, streets-UK have been supporting construction partner Bancon Construction Limited and their supply chain in the establishment of the required partnerships and delivery of the agreed outcomes. To date, this includes 20 new apprenticeships and school/employer partnerships with both Oldmachar and Bridge of Don Academies.
