This key City Centre block was ravaged in June 2018 by the second Glasgow School of Art fire.
The owners appointed streets-UK to provide stakeholder engagement and communications support after a public petition gathered 14,000 signatures opposing demolition of a Grade C part of the block that was badly damaged. The owners hadn’t been pro-active in communicating the issues and opportunities for the block leaving an information void filled by speculation and inaccuracies.
streets-UK ensured that key stakeholders were engaged both face to face and online and options were worked through. The return of a music venue to the site emerged as a priority: something that the owners are keen to support. Once stakeholders were up to speed, a wider media campaign was undertaken to communicate key messages.
