We are a communications and social value consultancy for the built environment, delivering positive results for clients and communities.

streets-UK has been delivering social value, consultation and communications services for built environment clients since 2006. We specialise in supporting and de-risking planning applications by ensuring best practice consultation and engagement and in maximising the social impact of built environment projects.

Based in Glasgow, we have experience in supporting masterplans, commercial and residential developments, road, rail and active travel infrastructure projects as well as large-scale civic proposals and small-scale community initiatives.

The Covid-19 pandemic required pre-planning application engagement to be undertaken almost exclusively digitally, which we supported our clients to do. We now deliver a hybrid solution, delivering sustainable and accessible engagement platforms online as well as staffed drop-in events and workshops.

Delivering social value has moved in recent years from just being a contractual obligation in some public sector contracts to being central to the sustainability and sense of purpose of organisations across all sectors.

We work with design teams to build social value into their designs, with procuring bodies to establish the most appropriate social value tender requirements, with bidders to create the most compelling social value bids, with communities to identify needs and benefits and with all parties to deliver and measure impactful social value initiatives on the ground.

“The industry expertise provided over recent weeks from the design team, and facilitated by streets-uk, has been invaluable to our young people in developing both their understanding of the different topics and their application to their own project development. As with former pupils in recent years, we anticipate that this level of industry input will contribute to some of our current students taking their new-found interest into further studies and work in the built environment and construction sectors when they leave school"
Mark Holden, Curriculum Leader for Craft and Design Technology, Drummond Community High School, Edinburgh
